Interview Date: TBC

An exciting opportunity has arisen for suitable candidates to join our supportive and dynamic anaesthetic department at Calderdale and Huddersfield. Our current department can facilitate a range of special interests, including Critical Care Medicine, Paediatric Anaesthesia, Obstetric Anaesthesia, Regional Anaesthesia, and Pain Medicine. Sessions will be conducted at both hospital sites, and on-call rota will be dependent on area of special interest. The post is initially for 10 PA, subject to further discussions. Applicants should possess the FRCA or equivalent, be on the GMC Specialist Register or be within 6 months of receiving a Certificate of Completion in Training (CCT) at time of interview.

The Trust has developed proposals for the next exciting phase in its development. Over the next five years we will centralise care at our Trust into two specialist centres - an emergency care centre with a dedicated paediatric unit in Calderdale, and a specialist centre for planned care alongside our new Acre Mills Outpatient Centre in Huddersfield. There are currently 13 Critical Care beds in 2 units, with the plan to amalgamate and expand the units in the emergency care centre. At Calderdale Royal Hospital there are currently 9 operating theatres with a central PACU, while on the Huddersfield site there are six theatres with a central PACU which forms the main theatre suite. In addition there are a further three theatres located in a purpose-built self-contained Day Surgery Unit.

Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust are proud providers of acute hospital services. We value our staff and recognise that they are our greatest asset. The CQC rated us as Good in June 2018. In their report they confirmed that “staff were caring and provided compassionate care; patients were treated with dignity and respect and their privacy was respected; patients spoke positively about the care they received”.

If you want to be part of a supportive and friendly team providing compassionate care then come and join us to help us achieve outstanding in the next CQC inspection.
