Through working at CHFT you can be part of this innovative area aiming to bring safer and more effective care to our patients.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist  Diabetes Dietitian to join our Diabetes Dietetic  team.  We are a  forward thinking and proactive dietetic department made up of 24 dietitians across various specialities and are welcoming like minded applicants.  Trust values are embedded in the diabetes team - we aim to provide compassionate care to those in our community so if your values match ours we would love to hear from you.

The post holder is a key member of the secondary care  diabetes  MDT working to empower patients to make sustainable changes.  The role covers all aspects of diabetes care.  Ideally we would like someone with some previous experience in diabetes care either in an inpatient or outpatient setting, with knowledge of Type 1 diabetes, DAFNE and antenatal/gestational Diabetes as an added advantage. The post holder will be involved in delivery of structured education programmes including DAFNE and DESMOND and hold a wider caseload including gestational clinic, antenatal clinic, dietetic clinic with  patients with Type 1 diabetes  on multiple daily injections and insulin pump therapy and patients with Type 2 diabetes.  The diabetes dietitians are based in the diabetes centre along with the specialist diabetes nurses, this gives the opportunity for joint working and support.  The post holder will also benefit from support from the other band 6 diabetes dietitian and admin support.  There are close working relationships with the podiatry team

You will benefit from the support of a friendly and experienced team of Dietitians who will help you to further develop your clinical and professional skills. Your career progression is important to us and we are committed to continuous professional development. We work in partnership with Leeds Beckett University to support A, B and C placement dietetic students. We are in a Directorate with other Allied Health Professionals; this will give you the opportunity to develop your role as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team. There is excellent secretarial support and IT facilities for the 24 Dietitians across the Trust. Good road and rail access to nearby Leeds, Manchester, the Yorkshire Dales and Peak District.
