Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust aspires to be a leader in the digital health revolution. With the launch of a full Electronic Patient Record in 2017 the Trust aims to be the safest, most efficient and patient centred Trust in the NHS. The launch is part of a 10-15 year ongoing project of modernisation with future opportunities for research, development in this rapidly developing field of medicine. Through working at CHFT you can be part of this innovative area aiming to bring safer and more effective care to our patients.

We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic nurses to join our respiratory team. We are looking for  dynamic individuals with strong interpersonal skills and an enthusiasm for caring for patients who have respiratory conditions. You will be responsible for promoting a high standard of nursing care and multi-disciplinary working. You will be expected to adopt a team approach to problem-solving and therefore good communication and organisational skills are essential. Ward 5bc is based at Calderdale Royal Hospital and currently is a 32 bedded respiratory unit with facilities for 8 monitored beds to provide an enhanced level of care for patients requiring NIV and respiratory support.

Post registration experience in respiratory care is desirable but not essential. Successful applicants will work within a friendly, supportive team who are enthusiastic and strive to deliver care of a high quality whilst maintaining patient safety and most of all putting the patient and their care first by working together to get results.

Your professional development will be supported by the clinical practice educator and a structured training strategy and respiratory training programme will be provided to support your knowledge and skill enhancement.

Further opportunities to work closely with the community respiratory nurses to promote self-management of chronic respiratory conditions and experience with Palliative care nurses is facilitated to promote an understand of the patient’s pathway and changing needs.
