An opportunity has arisen for a Apprentice Audio Typist/Admin Assistant to join the team within the Medical Division –
37.5 hrs per week Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
This post will be based at either Calderdale Royal Hospital or Huddersfield Royal Infirmary. Please note all posts have an expectation of working cross site between Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and Calderdale Royal Hospital dependant on services requirements.
The successful applicants will have good interpersonal skills, pleasant disposition and be approachable and provide visitors to the Trust with a friendly and efficient welcome and departure. Teamwork and flexibility are essential for this role.
The successful applicant must possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to work well in a team. As the role will involve large volumes of typing they must have previous experience of audio and touch typing and be able to prioritise workloads.
The successful applicant should have a good standard of general education with the desire to learn new skills and undertake training. Experience of ESR & EPR systems and RSA II Word processing or equivalent experience is desirable but not essential.
The applicant must have experience in an office environment and Medical terminology would be advantageous.
The Apprenticeship programme offers a full time (37.5 hours per week) 12 months fixed term contract which in most cases leads to a permanent position with Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.
The Apprenticeship Scheme is run in conjunction with a training provider to ensure that you are supported through a high quality training programme. You will be required to undertake the Intermediate Apprenticeship in Business Administration or Customer Service.
Candidates must have a genuine interest in administration and customer service and possess GCSE’s or equivalent in: English A*- C and Mathematics grade A*-C. This is an ideal opportunity to become an Apprentice and you will develop new skills and knowledge whilst working within an established team gaining valuable work experience as well as a nationally recognised apprenticeship qualification. You must take responsibility for your own learning and whilst support will be given during working hours you will be required to undertake study in your own time.

There is an eligibility criterion for government funded apprenticeships schemes that applies and therefore applicants must be aged 16 or over and have been resident in the UK/EU for the last three years. You must not hold a degree, level four qualification or above in a Business Administration related subject.
