Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust is a leader in the digital health revolution. With the launch of a full Electronic Patient Record in 2017 the Trust aims to be the safest, most efficient and patient centred Trust in the NHS. The launch is part of a 10-15 year ongoing project of modernisation with future opportunities for research, development in this rapidly developing field of medicine. Through working at CHFT you can be part of this innovative area aiming to bring safer and more effective care to our patients.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Point of Care Testing (POCT) Manager, in a busy but friendly team, within the Pathology department at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust (CHFT). Applications are invited from quality driven, enthusiastic and motivated individuals to manage the services across the Trust. CHFT is one of the most digitally advanced Trusts in the country and our department works closely our stakeholders to support a large number of POCT platforms across the Trust, offering a wide range of diagnostic tests to two hospitals and the wider community.
The Point of Care Testing Manager will be responsible, in conjunction with the Point of Care Testing Clinical Lead and the Chair of the Point of Care Testing Governance Committee, for the implementation of the Trust wide Point of Care Testing Policy, ensuring the Trust and other services comply with Current Legislation, Regulations and Guidelines. The post holder will manage the Associate Practitioners, who will provide training, assessment, advice and problem solving for a range of Point of Care Testing devices. They will implement a Quality Assurance scheme liaising with the relevant laboratories for these Point of Care Testing devices.
The Point of Care Testing Manager acts as the link between the users of POCT and the Pathology Department. They will have an understanding of POCT devices for all Pathology disciplines and will provide expert advice to clinicians and senior managers regarding Point of Care Testing.
CHFT has been rated Good by The Care Quality Commission and the Pathology department is accredited to the UKAS ISO15189 standard. CPD and further study is actively encouraged and supported. You will be required to adopt flexible working patterns and may be required to work on either of the Trust sites. The post is subject to Agenda for Change NHS Term and Conditions.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
